April 2021 Pastor’s Perspective

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ,

He is risen!  He is risen, indeed!  Gathering as God’s people, the Church of Jesus Christ, Easter is a glorious occasion!

Praise the Lord we will worship God:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit on April 4th together; in the Sanctuary and it will be available online!

We will celebrate the saving love of God available to us because Jesus was raised from the dead, appeared to hundreds of people, ascended into heaven in glory,  has given us God’s Holy Spirit to empower eternal life, and promises to raise all who believe in him to new life by the power that raised Jesus from the dead!

Are we living today, in late March with the assurance of salvation and confident assurance He is risen!  He is risen, indeed!?

What message do we shout the rest of our days?  We have opportunities to share Jesus in the midst of these days.  Our daily witness to his love and mercy has a greater impact on those who have yet to come to faith in Jesus!

Jesus’ death and Resurrection hold eternal claim over our lives!  Jesus challenges us to think; what profit is there in the issues and concerns of life when we still lose our life?  Victory over sin and death, forgiveness, salvation, new life; Jesus offers to all who confess faith in him and serve him daily as Lord.  He invites us to discover the radical joy of being freed from sin, death, and condemnation.  Freedom to live as we are created by our gracious God, faithful, glad, and loving.

Our lives are radically different because we believe He is risen!

“Now I would remind you, brethren, in what terms I preached to you the gospel, which you received, in which you stand, by which you are saved, if you hold it fast — unless you believed in vain.   For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.  Then he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.  Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.  Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.  For I am the least of the apostles, unfit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.  But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain.  On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God which is with me.  Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed…If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most to be pitied.” (1 Cor. 15:1-11; 19)

We who follow Jesus know nothing is more important.  We gladly seek to lead everyone into a life-changing relationship with Jesus and live out his glorious salvation!

Transformed by Jesus, our mission – go make (new) disciples of all nations – testifies we are what we are because of God’s grace toward us!  We are determined to work hard so many will be saved and know that Jesus is risen!  God loves us and woos us to respond by dying to lies, fears, and failures; living in the truth of Jesus by the power of his Holy Spirit in the fellowship of his Church; not giving up, everyday seeking to lead everyone to Jesus!

God loves you and we love you!
